Bike rental in Slovenia

We stayed at Hisa Posebne Sorte with our cycle tour of Slovenia (we went with Helia - fantastic by the way). This charming guesthouse is nestled in a tiny village in the heart of wine country, the accommodation is large, comfortable, clean, and every need catered for. The views are outstanding. What makes this place truly special is two things, firstly, the hospitality truly is outstanding. The hosts have a wonderful personal touch, and we are truly grateful to them. Secondly the restaurant, lovingly handmade, and then the food, exceptional. In fact, it was so special that we got engaged here! It is a very popular location for weddings, so we may be back. Highly recommend for a weekend away, a relaxing stay, or a wedding!

As an introduction to tour cycling, this trip was an unqualified success. Everything was first-class: well-organized, comfortable bikes, great accommodation, clearly signposted routes, and stunning countryside. We will definitely be back! The cycling itself was excellent, with the level of difficulty just right. Each day brought something new, with epic climbs, rewarding descents, and plenty of variety. Taking time to visit caves, castles, and cafés made the journey even richer, and visiting the home of the Lipizzaner horses was a real highlight. Slovenian motorists were exceptionally courteous, giving us far more space than we’re used to at home. The cycle paths could easily rival those of Belgium and Holland. I can’t wait to return with my road bike to tackle the Slovenian hills again.

My friends and I loved this itinerary and savored nearly every minute of it. We began in late September and finished on the first day of October, with weather that was nearly perfect. The route starts in Ljubljana and winds through dense forests and woodlands. Along the way, you pass through quaint, medieval-looking towns before emerging into a landscape reminiscent of Tuscany. The journey concludes in Piran—the jewel of Slovenia—set on the stunning Adriatic Coast.

I have the pleasure to recommend Helia Bikes for an 8 day tour they organized for our group of 13, starting in Bled and ending in Piran. They made sure that we were equipped with all we needed and reassured us to contact them at any point should we have needed help. I was delighted with the quality of my e-bike, and the convenience of a panier. Each hotel had a different arrangement for parking the bikes and charging them with no major issues. Our luggage was delivered without any delays, waiting for us at the end of the ride each day. We had many flavors of towns, guest houses and spectacular gorges and mountains and were delighted by the respectful and friendly welcome everywhere. This region of Slovenia offers a rich history, especially of World War I and it was moving to have tastes of the Trail of Peace. I highly recommend this tour as an introduction to this part of Slovenia, close to the border of Austria and Italy.

Having landed in Ljubljana, and spent two days there, it was an easy drive to Bled and we enjoyed hiking in the area before the start of the biking. I thank everyone at Helia for their friendly competence!
